I have a passion for narrative non-fiction children's books. Using my visual anthropologist's eye I'm drawn to the stories buried in everyday objects, alternative perspectives, and the way humans have always made sense of the world. When we change our gaze we can see the 'extra'-ordinary in the ordinary, or appreciate something we once took for granted.
My goal is to create books filled with fascinating anecdotes for curious readers, which highlight stories from across the globe. Weaving story and history together and complimenting words with illustrations that add a humorous touch.
I am focused on creating beautiful children's narrative non-fiction books as both writer and illustrator. Combining my skills in research, critical thinking and storytelling, I am currently developing several ideas that explore human history, remarkable endeavours, anthropology, and the curious ways humans live.
Researching and reflecting back on history often reveals true stories more absurd or bizarre than anything we could make up. My field research and storytelling also includes an interest in female led stories, nature and exploration.
I’m available for both author-illustrator and illustrator-only projects. I’m comfortable illustrating a manuscript or pitching my own stories.

Inspiration for characters can come from almost anywhere and when we least expect it. I really enjoy creating the backstory of who I’m about to draw.
