Isn’t she mighty? And wonderful? I love her. She reminds me to be strong, and soft, and a warrior, and whatever the heck I want to be even if that’s a big Vulva on horseback. My good friend gave me a brooch when I was going through a difficult time and it was a pewter replica pilgrim pin dating back to the 1400’s. It was beautiful and it did everything my friend had hoped it might. It cheered me up, I felt seen and cared for and just kinda wonderful. As you know I like a bit of colour so without any plan I started making my own Vulva Huntress paper collage.
I made my Huntress into greeting cards, and paper cut outs, and just in time for Christmas I made some Vulva Huntress hanging ornaments which were perfect for a slightly unusual festive tree decoration. When I’ve been to craft markets she is far and away the favourite. People have bought ornaments for themselves and for friends and one lady bought a whole women’s circle their very own hanging vulva huntress. It warms my cockles. People have told me they hang them on the inside of their wardrobe, on their bookshelf and even on their central mirror in the car. How flipping marvellous!
So just to continue the Vulva Huntress shout I have decided to make an even bigger version. A 20cm x 20cm Vulva Huntress wall hanging plaque type thing. made from and cut out of sustainable birch plywood. I guess you could still hide her away on the inside of your wardrobe but she’s definitely happy to be out and shouty and on show.
